Dvi cable or vga cable?? My new samsung tft and 9800gt card have both vga and dvi ports?
I want to know if i should connect my new tft using dvi to dvi cable or a vga cable as my tft and pc has both ports. The shopkeeper says dvi has much better quality of pictureover vga cable?? Is it true or is the shopkeeper trying to sell me that 700 Rs cable??
DVI is a digital connection-- The signal is all digital from your card, through the cable, to the LCD screen.
VGA is an analog connection. The video card's RAMDAC (RAM digital to analog converter) must convert the digital image data in its memory to an analog signal, send it over the analog VGA cable to the monitor, where the monitor reconverts the analog video signal back to digital for display on the screen.
Personally, I don't see the point of all that back-and-forth signal conversion used in VGA, so I use DVI preferentially.
